Multi-Family Housing (phase 1)

This project seeks to challenge the compact, stacked nature of housing.  Each of the 10 units has a sense of privacy and individualism, such that residents feel as if their unit is their own house or sanctuary.

Elevating the ground level 5 feet led to an exploration in how sectional quality of the units can make for more intriguing spaces as well as a different relationship between the units and the ground.  The next phase of this project will consist of pushing sectional quality within each unit further and spacing the units further apart to create a site plan with a more disciplined figure/ground approach.

This project will continue into the next quarter, where design will be finalized and comprehensive documentation of the project will be completed.
