Observation Tower

This project uses structure and façade to create layers of transparency and a distinction between public and private space.  A simple, sister-trussed bridge leads to a very open public space.  The massive superstructure is designated as private space for rangers conducting observations around the site.  The wall section and framing model reveal how structure and materiality can create differing layers of openness and lightness.
